The models are coming into better agreement on the timing of an extended period of showers set to impact the region late Thu-Monday.
We have got one more good day of sunshine and high clouds ahead before things turn damp for an extended period. A complex system involving a large upper level low will spread abundant moisture across the southeast from Thu-Sun. The worst of the rains are expected to our west (some locations in LA/MS could see well over a foot), however there will be plenty of moisture around to produce some showers across the region beginning late Thursday. The best chance for rain, however, comes from late Saturday through the first half of Sunday, when a low pressure system develops to the west. Total rainfall amounts in the next 7 days of 0.5-1.5″ are expected with virtually no flooding or severe concerns. Temps will remain warm with clearing skies by Tuesday.
Everybody have a great Wednesday!~TW
