The City of Demorest Water Department will be making emergency waterline repairs on Camp Creek Road this morning (April 14, 2016) starting at 9:00 AM this morning.

Customers affected will be on Camp Creek Rd. from State HWY 197 East to Savage and Cody Road. Customers living in Morningstar Subdivision and Habersham Estates Subdivision will also be affected.

Our water crew is working now and repairs will take approximately 4-6 hours.

In order to protect the public from a potential health hazard, all citizens who are water customers of the City of Demorest in the affected areas are advised to “boil” all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food. The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by the City of Demorest that the water system has been restored to full operation and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.

The City of Demorest will issue a public notice to lift the advisory.

Please call the offices of City Hall at 706-778-4202 if you have any questions or concerns.
