A Habersham County teenager is in jail following an attempted robbery and shooting in Cornelia that happened late Sunday night.
The Cornelia Police Department issued a press release stating officers were dispatched around 10:55 p.m. to an attempted robbery that resulted in one person being shot. The incident occurred on Chattahoochee Street in the area of the Cornelia Library and Cornelia Skate Park.
Tavaccea Davis was arrested in relation to the incident. Sources tell Now Habersham Davis is a Habersham Central High School dropout who left school in January after transferring in from Stephens County at the start of this school year.
He’s being held at the Habersham County Detention Center without bond.

Officials say the shooting victim is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. Police have not released his name but friends and family took to social media identifying him as Habersham Central High senior Austin Wilbanks.
Police say they are not releasing any more information at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
