7-Day Forecast: Wet Pattern, Strong Storms Possible Thursday

We’ll be making a dent in the recent “abnormally dry” conditions during the next 7 days.

A cold front will approach the region today adding some lift that will help bring more widespread showers/storms to the region. All the showers from yesterday stayed to our north, but more should develop across Northeast Georgia today. No severe problems are expected today, but as with any afternoon-type storms an isolated severe wind gust or some small hail can’t be completely ruled out.

The better chance for strong storms comes tomorrow when a line of showers/storms arrives thanks to the cold front. Models are still somewhat different with how organized/solid the line is when it arrives in Georgia, but widespread showers/storms are likely mainly after noon. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this situation and keep you updated as things change.

We’ll dry out and warm well back into the 80’s on Friday before more afternoon showers/storms arrive on Saturday. The models are definitely different in how they handle the system Sunday/Monday with the Euro being  a more organized system with higher rain totals.

Regardless, showers/storms are likely on Sunday, with some persisting into Monday and perhaps Tuesday. I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

Everybody have a great Wednesday and stay dry!~TW
