7-Day Forecast: Gradually Wetter

We’ll see a gradual increase in precipitation over the coming days, including Memorial Day Weekend.

We’ve entered a fairly quiet pattern across Northeast Georgia, and it looks to hang around for a few more days before getting a bit more active by late weekend and the first of next week.

Expect isolated to scattered showers both today and Friday, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. A couple of these storms could produce brief strong winds or small hail (like any afternoon summer storm), but no severe is expected.

By Saturday we will get a brief break to start off Memorial Day weekend, so any outdoor plans you may have on Saturday have only about a 10% chance of getting rained on. That goes up to 30% by Sunday and 40% by Monday thanks largely in part to a tropical system near the east coast pumping plentiful moisture into the region. No severe is expected during this time however some much needed heavy rain could fall under any storms that develop.

That chance of rain looks to continue through much of next week, with afternoon thunderstorms a good bet through Wednesday.

Everybody have a great Thursday!~TW
