The investigation continues into what caused a fire that killed a Habersham County couple last month. A.J. and Tina Chitwood died July 18th after fire swept through their mobile home on Waterway Court near Clarkesville.
The couple were found in their bathroom. Firefighters managed to pull them from the burning home through a window but both were pronounced dead at Habersham Medical Center.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is handling the investigation into the fire. Spokesman Glenn Allen says they’re still awaiting autopsy results from the state crime lab. He says, “No cause has been determined on the double fatality.”
