Habersham County’s own Kimberly Schlapman is making history at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Schlapman, along with her bandmates in the Grammy Award winning country music quartet Little Big Town, opened a nine-concert, yearlong residency at the historic venue on Friday.
It’s the first time an artist has headlined as many shows over the course of a year in the Ryman’s 125 year history, according to The Tennessean.
Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton also appeared on stage with LBT Friday. The group performed Saturday, as well.
Upcoming concert dates include Saturday; May 19-20; July 28-29; Sept. 15-16; and Nov. 27. All concerts start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50.50-$90.50 through Ticketmaster, 1-800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.
More shows are expected to be added.
Little Big Town released its 7th studio album “The Breaker” on February 24th.
