Pastor Gerald Maurice Lee, age 77 of Turnerville, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Florence, South Carolina on February 20, 1940, he was a son of the late Henry and Christine Melton Lee. Pastor Lee was a member of Turnerville Church of God, where he served his congregation as Pastor for over 30 years. He served his country proudly as a United States Marine and enjoyed fishing. Pastor Lee was a committed servant to a faithful God.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceeded in death by his sister, Dempie Diane Lee; a brother, Pedro Nelson Lee and stepfather, Theodore Lee.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Donnie Mae Collins Lee of Turnerville; son, Chris Lee of Demorest; sons and daughter-in-laws, Terrell & Lorra Lee of Demorest, Jason & Jennifer Lee of Cook, Minnesota; grandchildren, Aaron Lee, Gavin Lee, Kellan Lee, Collin Lee and Casey Lee; brother, Nick Lee of Lake City, South Carolina;
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, March 4, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Steve Chrisco officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and the Georgia National Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Friday.
