(Helen, GA) – State Route 75 between Helen and Cleveland remains closed as Georgia Department of Transportation maintenance crews work to replace a failed drainage pipe.
A detour is in effect on SR 75 from State Route 384/Duncan Bridge Road to Asbestos Road until the repairs are completed.
A press release from GDOT says crews will be working through the night to remove damaged roadway, replace the drainage pipe, and pave the area.
“The weather has affected the progress of the repairs and will continue to be a factor in the completion of the project,” the release states.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead for expected delays.
