While things are still dry here in Habersham, for the moment, there are numerous Flash Flood Warnings in effect to the west, with plentiful flooded roadways/creeks reported.
-Union and Towns County until 4:15PM; likely to be extended/renewed
-Gilmer and Fannin Counties until 9:00PM
-Murray County until 8:45PM
The latest radar trends show the band of rain gradually pushing south and east, so these warnings may be expanded to cover more area later this evening. In addition, short-range models show this band persisting into the overnight, so more flooding is likely thanks to the copious amounts of recent rainfall.
If you see a flooded roadway, remember: TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.
