7-Day Forecast: More Rain

The sunshine on Saturday was a nice surprise as the frontal boundary that brought devastating rains to portions of Alabama and Georgia finally dissipated. The bad news is that more rain is on the way.

Showers will be widely scattered and mainly light through the day today, but that changes heading into tomorrow.

Temps will remain quite warm until a strong front clears us out on Thursday, but heavy rains are possible between now and then with two systems affecting the region. The first is a “cold” front which will bring widespread rain on Monday and Monday night. We’ll dry out briefly Tuesday with more rain expected with a low pressure system to our south. Rain could be heavy at times with both these systems, and an additional 2-4″ is possible over the next 4 days (isolated higher amounts, as usual). Flooding potential will be significant with any additional heavy rain, so we’ll be watching that closely.

The good news is that behind the Wed/Thu system we look to dry out and cool down to more seasonable temps to begin the new year.

Everyone have a great Sunday!~TW
