Howdy Habersham!
It’s getting very cold out and we’ll be headed the low-20’s by dawn. Highs for your Wednesday will be chilly, with 40º being about all we can hope for. We’ll warm up a tick heading into Thursday before cooling back off for the weekend.
A front/Gulf Low will bring rain to the region on Friday, with widespread showers expected, though rainfall amounts remain up in the air. We should clear out by Saturday morning with some sun returning, before things get extremely tricky and interesting by Sunday.
Some of the model guidance has indicated the potential for a light snow event across North Georgia, so a 20% chance of snow for Sunday has been added to the forecast. There is a significant amount of uncertainty with this system, and it could very well turn out to be nothing more than a cold day, but the potential is there. Regardless of exactly what happens, this isn’t looking like a significant snowfall with only light amounts expected in the best case. I’ll be watching the models extremely closely and keep you updated as we move closer, including dedicated updates starting tomorrow if the overnight models continue to advertise the potential.
Everyone have a great Wednesday and stay warm!~TW
