The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a Banks County inmate.The Banks County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year old Tammy Sue Greenway of Maysville was found unconscious in her cell at 10:58 Tuesday morning. EMS responded and transported her to a local hospital where she later died.
A news release issued by the BCSO Tuesday afternoon says Greenway was arrested for aggravated assault on January 23. Foul play is not suspected in her death.
The release states, “Per our policy, we have requested GBI to investigate the incident. Further information will be released once the investigation is complete.”
