A very cold forecast is in store for the next 7 days, including a very cold rain to start next week.
Some very cold air has moved into the region behind a strong cold front. This air will modify slightly by Friday when another reinforcing shot of cold air arrives cooling us back off again for Saturday, but sun will dominate with dry conditions expected.
The big question mark of the forecast comes the first of next week when modeling indicates a large low pressure system approaching from the west. The latest, most reliable guidance indicates nothing more than the possibility of some freezing rain at the start, followed by a quick transition to a cold rain for Monday/Tuesday. That’s what I’ve gone with for this forecast, but that is still subject to major change so stay tuned.
