Community-wide Veterans Day ceremonies are scheduled today and tomorrow in Habersham.
Thursday, Nov. 10th:
The first event starts at 9:30 a.m. at South Habersham Middle School in Cornelia. This year’s theme is “Honoring our Heroes.” The program will be held in the school’s gymnasium/auditorium. Refreshments will be served to all guests following the program.
Simultaneous to South Habersham’s event, North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville will hold its Veterans Day program. The event starts with a free breakfast for veterans from 9:30-10 a.m. at the Ramsey-Hunter Dining Hall annex on the Clarkesville campus. Then, at 10 a.m., the public is invited to a special program on the Clarkesville Campus Quad.
At 1 p.m. today, North Habersham Middle School will host it’s annual Veteran’s Day Celebration in the middle school’s gymnasium/auditorium. The theme for this years celebration is “Courage.” All veterans and community members are invited to attend. A dessert reception will follow the program.
Friday, Nov. 11th:
On Friday, Hilliard A. Wilbanks Middle School in Demorest will hold its annual Veterans Day program beginning at 10 a.m. in the school’s gymnasium.
The official national observance of Veterans Day is tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 11th. It’s a day set aside to honor and thank all who have served in our nation’s Armed Forces.
We encourage you to attend at least one of these events. If you can’t, please find another meaningful way to show your gratitude to the men and women and families who have sacrificed so much to keep us free.
