A poetic and photographic tribute to our nation’s veterans.
Just another Veteran’s Day I heard someone say Sipping coffee and reading today’s news. I paused to remember just how we came to be For life without Veteran’s would look quite differently. They answered a call to a lifestyle unlike mine. A life of discipline, unforeseen hardship and strife, Conflict, loneliness, loss of moments, loss of time; Gunfire, bombs, wounds, and loss of life. Some are husbands – some are wives. Fathers, mothers, sons daughters, friends But once a soldier – always a defender The call, the duty, never stops, never ends. The stripes are theirs, which wave upon our flag. The stars carry the veteran’s name. The red, the white, the blue wouldn’t be the same Had our veterans not fought to keep them that way. No – it isn’t just another Veteran’s Day. And never will be just another Veteran’s Day. Today and every day as we live free, As we call our country great We humbly thank you America carries your name in each and every face For without you, America would be a different place.
