An active manhunt is underway at this hour in Banks County for a man authorities consider to be “armed and dangerous.” The suspect is identified as Matthew Theodore Samples. He’s wanted on several outstanding warrants including warrants for kidnapping and aggravated assault
Banks County Sgt. Carissa McFadden says the search for Samples is centered in the area of Highway 441 near Thompson Street. All schools that are open have been placed on lockdown. McFadden says law enforcement is present at those schools. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the search.
Samples is described as a white male, 5’9″ tall weighing 160 pounds with dark hair and eyes.
Authorities ask if you know Samples’ whereabouts or see him please contact 9-1-1 immediately.
